High Speed Broadband
Internet has long changed from the plain old telephone line coming to your home and the phone getting engaged every time you logged onto the internet. It is also no more the hundreds of dollars it was for miniscule speed. It is also no more all the pain of unplugging your phone line from the instrument, then plugging it into a modem and then trying a zillion times to connect to the internet… And honestly it is no more the jubilance it was, to be connected to the internet and see a website!
Internet has changed drastically of the years. The terrible speeds and the phone lines that had to be disconnected are passé and what is popular now is high speed broadband from companies like tpg and others. These broadband internet providers, provide not just wired line internet but also high speed wireless solutions, capable of handling multiple computers logged on and watching online video, all at the same time.
The days when we use to browse the internet, Happily, at speeds of 36kbps are long gone.
And I do remember how happy we were when internet went from 36 kbps to 52kbps and then on to 64kbps. Infact I remember telling my friends about superfast speeds at 64kbps… Little did I know that in a few years speeds like those would be the past and speeds that we consider very basic now, would be the future. The new age of internet, in the form of DSL, naked dsl and other broadband services, has dawned and the future can only hold something better with companies like tpg bringing out newer plans and services, by the day!
Naked DSL is a flavor of broadband that is currently on the high. Naked DSL is actually a type of DSL broadband internet. Under DSL, a subscriber gets a telephone line that is split into two parts where the internet has to be accessed. One part goes into a telephone instrument for the telephony service and another part goes into the modem. Naked DSL is slightly different because it is a broadband that comes only for internet. That means under this scheme, you still get the internet but no telephone service. This is one way that service providing companies are able to offer more flexible and probably more economical internet plans because you don’t pay for telephony, but it is said that there is not a major difference between DSL and Naked DSL as far as speed is concerned.
